I set out to create the most versatile, resonant, dynamic, playable and comfortable acoustic guitar my skills could muster, and Ella is the result. Unlike any other acoustic guitar you have ever played, Ella slots perfectly alongside your body, whilst sounding equally fantastic through a concert hall PA system or your studio valve amp. She can be pushed to crunch without feeding back, and can sing long, sustained cathedral-like notes up and down the fretboard with clarity and focus. Hand carved from a huge piece of roasted wood, they are light in weight, beautiful, and alive under the hands. Ella is delicate, thoughtful, focused, responsive, dynamic, playful and boisterous.

They can be ordered with either roasted walnut for the body and neck, roasted mahogany for the body and neck or wenge for the body and neck, with an ebony, rosewood or wenge fretboard.

They come with stainless steel frets, 24.75” scale length and 44mm at the nut

Ella is a parlor size guitar. Sound is picked up by my custom designed magnetic pickup mounted through fretboard and a passive piezo system. Both on their own hidden blend pots mounted inside the soundhole.

Typical build weight is 2.2kg / 4.8lbs

Ella is named after my daughter, who is also delicate, thoughtful, focused, responsive, beautiful, playful, boisterous and parlor sized.

I started the first one as a solid block of wood the size of a traditional archtop and carved away material until it sat comfortably against my body. The deep belly and arm cuts, and the thin upper side, are a by-product of comfort.

A totally hollow body with no centre block, big belly and arm cuts, an oversized F-hole and corners in unusual places. A body that wants to be looked at.
